Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, intended successor to his ailing father the king, has just arrested eleven princes of rival branches of the Saudi royal family and replaced the commanders of all the main military and police forces.
The Crown Prince is an ally of President Trump, Israel, and the other anti-Iranian countries and leaders in the Mideast.
The Lebanese prime minister, faced with an Iranian-Hezbollah assassination plot against him, has resigned and fled to Riyadh, the Saudi capita, for protection.
A few hours before the Crown Prince moved against his domestic enemies to forestall a possible coup, Iran’s Houthi rebel group in Yemen fired a ballistic missile at Riyadh. It was shot down successfully by a Patriot defense system.
Japan, where President Trump is presently visiting, has just moved to provide an aid package to the Philippines, to oppose China’s influence there and its attempt to dominate the South China Sea. China has become increasingly militant in opposing Japan, the US, and India and in backing North Korea.
Control of Mideast oil will determine how much leeway Chinese militarism has in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Special Counsel Mueller and anti-Trump polls by the U.S. major media are trying to set up the President for an impeachment push.
More detailed reports will follow tomorrow.
